Around Orange, CA

Our conference location is close to numerous recreational venues for families, including Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Angels Stadium, and the beach [www.orangecounty.net]. There are also several restaurants and cafes within a few blocks of the Chapman campus. We have listed a few ideas below.

The Plaza and Old Towne Orange Historic District- 5 minute walk
The Plaza, located in Old Towne Orange, was once the social and commercial hub of the City of Orange. Today the Plaza has outdoor restaurants, specialty shops, antique dealers, and a shady park in the center.
Head south on N Glassell St toward Chapman Ave.
Located in the area surrounding the intersection of Glassell and Chapman.

Dairy Treet- 3 minute walk
Dairy Treet is Orange’s oldest burger stand, still serving up burgers, fries, and shakes made from real ice cream.
Located near the SE corner of campus at the intersection of W Palm and N Glassell.

Watson Drugs & Soda Fountain- 5 minute walk
Open since 1899, Watson is the oldest ongoing business in the City of Orange. The store has been used to film many movies and commercials, including the Tom Hanks film “That Thing You Do.” Drop by for a hamburger and shake.
Head south on N Glassell St toward E Palm Ave.
At Plaza Square, turn left onto E Chapman Ave.

Irvine Park - 15 minute drive
The nearly 500-acre Irvine Park includes the Orange County Zoo, a lagoon, pedal boats, a mini railroad, bike rentals, picnic areas, ball fields, horseshoe pits, a nature center, and several miles of hiking and mountain biking trails.
Head south on N Glassell St toward E Palm Ave.
At Plaza Square, take the 3rd exit onto E Chapman Ave.
Turn left at Jamboree Rd.
Turn right at Irvine Park Rd.

Downtown Disney- 15 minute drive
Downtown Disney is a dining, shopping, and entertainment complex in the middle of the Disneyland Resort. It is free for the public.
Head south on N Glassell St toward E Palm Ave.
At Plaza Square, take the 2nd exit onto S Glassell St.
Turn right onto the CA-22 W/Garden Grove Fwy.
Take the exit onto I-5 N toward Los Angeles.
Take exit 109 for Katella Ave toward Disney Way.
Merge onto S Anaheim Way.
Turn left at E Katella Ave.
Turn right at S Disneyland Dr.
Continue on Disneyland Dr, staying in the far two right lanes. Follow the signs to the most convenient parking area.
