Lifewater International Annual Conference 2008

June 20-22, 2008

This year's conference, Transforming Communities, brings together individuals from around the world to share an unforgettable weekend and optional weekday training.

Description of Activities:
The Conference begins Friday evening with a session including an update from Executive Director Dan Stevens and reports from popular Christian author Mike Yankoski. Mike and his wife Danae will speak about their experiences living in two communities in northern Uganda, one with safe water and sanitation and one with neither.

Saturday includes a keynote address by internationally renowned speaker Roberta Hestenes, former Chair of the Board of World Vision International, author, pastor, and educator. Following that, you will have the opportunity to attend over a dozen informative and challenging workshops, given by expert and dynamic presenters, on a range of topics from strategic Christian stewardship to appropriate water technologies. In the evening, we meet together to connect with one another and spend time with our international partners as well as fellow volunteers and supporters.

Sunday will included a worship service, brunch, and international fair where you can learn more about the specific countries in which Lifewater is working and meet the international partners working in the area.

Training courses in Exploring Transformational Mission (formerly CBTS), Hygiene Training of Trainers, and Hand Pump Repair are available to field trainers and invited applicants immediately following the Conference, beginning Sunday evening. (Note that the Hand Pump Repair class will take place in San Luis Obispo, beginning on Monday and ending on Friday.)
