Back 2 School

If you have children or work with them, you are a formative influence in the lives of our future leaders, missionaries, international development experts, teachers and other valuable members of society. You know how important it is for children to gain an early appreciation for their important place in our diverse, intriguing, and need-filled world. Lifewater's WASH around the World materials help young people develop this appreciation by introducing them to other cultures through children's eyes and by illustrating every cultures' need for WASH - safe WAter, improved Sanitation, and lifesaving Hygiene knowledge.

Lifewater has several downloadable resources for you to take your kids through an educational WASH adventure and fundraise with.

For Primary-Aged Children:

The  WASH Around the World teacher's guide contains five, multicultural lessons with stories, discussion questions, activity ideas, prayers, coloring pages, and photos. It is an ideal and adaptable resource for school, VBS, Sunday School, and family time. For a sample of the text, view and read the first story (Christian version) which takes place in Ecuador, where "Carlos and Marta Have a Big Job." Additionally, the Water for All PowerPoint presentation and Water is Life for Kids short video help children see the various ways they use water, and how Lifewater's well drilling, latrine construction, and hygiene lessons help other children around the world become healthy, happier, and strong.

Place the water usuage tracking sheet next to the faucet and toilet. Determine how much your group will donate for every time someone ticks the sheet for having a drink of water, washing their hands, and flushing the toilet. At the end of the month, recognize with gratitude how much you depended on your running water!

For Secondary and Highschool-Aged Children:

Articles on the Water Crisis are a wealth of engaging information for discussion. Why is water crucial to a nation's economy and a family's livelihood? How does access to a safe, private latrine help women, and a girl's changes of staing in school? Why is it so dangerous when children get worms from unsafe water? And what are organizations like Lifewater International, enabled by your help, able to do to end the water crisis?

To take a step further and fundraise to bring water, sanitation, and hygiene to schoolchildren in need, explore one of several creative ideas on our site and choose a classroom goal:

  • $20 = WASH for 1 child at school
  • $100 = WASH for 5 children at school
  • $1,600 = WASH for a classroom of 80 children
  • $15,000 = WASH for an entire school of 500 to 1,000 children

Additional Tools:

Lifewater's "Safe Water for All" adult-sized wristband, and the "All Kids Deserve Safe Water" glow-in-the-dark youth version are a great daily reminder to pray for those we are helping and to be grateful for the WASH we get access to here in the United States.

The brochure and magnet are take-home materials informing and inviting parents into the activities.

Thank you for helping schoolchildren meet their most basic needs so they can grow in all that God created them to be!
