We are Christian.
Colossians 2:6–13, Philippians 2:5–11
- We are followers of Jesus Christ, living and working to God’s glory.
- We strive to love, forgive, and serve others as Christ has done for us.
- We pray for wisdom and guidance in all that we do, recognizing that God alone empowers us to work effectively.
We believe in the inherent dignity and worth of all people.
Romans 12:3–8, Genesis 1:27–28
- We believe that all people are created in God’s image and endowed with God-given gifts.
- We strive to treat all people with dignity and respect.
- We believe that God’s Spirit empowers people to participate in God’s work on earth.
We are committed to the poor through holistic ministry.
Isaiah 61:1–4, Colossians 1:15–20
- We believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ has the power to bring wholeness to all aspects of life: spiritual, physical, emotional, and social.
- We proclaim the gospel in word and action.
- We work alongside the poor to understand and respond to the complex, systemic causes of poverty.
We practice partnership.
1 Corinthians 12:12–30, Matthew 25:31–40, John 17:20–23
- Recognizing that we cannot alleviate poverty alone, we work in partnership to bring about lasting improvements to people’s health and well-being.
- We believe that partnership honors others’ God-given gifts and responds to Jesus’ instructions to work together in unity.
We are committed to good stewardship.
Matthew 25:14–28, 1 Corinthians 4:2, Colossians 3:23
- We recognize that our resources are entrusted to us to benefit the poor, and we strive to use them wisely to bring about sustainable solutions.
- We strive to glorify God by working with excellence, transparency, and accountability.
- We mentor partners, who in turn mentor communities, to discover their own gifts, assets, and abilities and to employ them for the common good.
