The United Nations General Assembly designated March 22 of every year as the World Day for Water, beginning in 1993. Major events and activities such as Water Walks are being planned in New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle as well as select local communities. You can help raise awareness by participating or organizing your own event.

International Year of Sanitation: 2008

To highlight the often overlooked and essential need for adequate sanitaion as well as recognize the 2.6 billion people in the world who lack it, the UN General Assembly declared 2008 the International Year of Sanitation. You can help educate yourself and raise awareness.
